1. What Operating System and browsers does AdsEliminator support?
AdsEliminator supports Windows 95,98,NT4.0,ME,2000,XP. Works with Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla browser
2. I ran AdsEliminator for the first time, but I still see ads in my Internet Explorer.
You may need to restart your Internet Explorer after running AdsEliminator the first time so the settings take effect.
3. I ran AdsEliminator for the first time, but I still see ads in my Opera / Mozilla.
You need to change some settings in your Opera and Mozilla so that AdsEliminator could work with them. To configure Opera for AdsEliminator choose in main menu File / Preferences / Network. Then click on button "Proxy Servers..." and in opened window enter for HTTP proxy server address 127.0.0.1 on port 43838.
To configure Mozilla for AdsEliminator choose in main menu Edit / Preferences / Advanced / Proxies. Then choose "Manual proxy configuration" and enter for HTTP proxy server address 127.0.0.1 on port 43838.
Click OK button.
4. I want to allow some popups on a specific site I visit a lot.
You can enter in the "White List" any page. Just click the AdsEliminator Icon. Find in settings "White list" and add the url to the allowed list.
5. How can I temporarily turn AdsEliminator off?
Right click on AdsEliminator icon in tray. Choose in menu Enable. The icon will change it's color. AdsEliminator will stop blocking popups in your browsers.
6. If a banner ad, or some content gets through, it may be possible to block that content.
1) Right click on the ad (in your browser).
2) Choose properties (bottom of the list).
3) Copy the name of the image (you can take the full name, or just a part of it).
4) To actually add a ads token name to the block list, open AdsEliminator / Settings / Adv Tokens and paste the name of the image to the lists. You can just add parts of a url with the mask like "*/ads/*" etc.
